Almost there...

Today was the day the "moving truck"arrived!

We knew that mom's friend's friend wouldn't arrive with the trailer full of her furniture and boxes until about suppertime, but we'd forgotten that we wanted to "refinish" the bedroom floors before moving things into the bedrooms! YIKES!

G. ran to Home Depot and picked up some floor cleaner and something to apply to the floor and "restore the surface". By 3:00, the floors looked pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. Not sure the picture will do it justice, but here:
About 5:30 the trailer arrived. I guess traffic was pretty bad on the drive down--lots of accidents. This trailer is really quite wide, so the initial plan of backing it up near the garage wasn't gonna work. You can see that the trailer is as far off the road as it could be (the house is in the way) while still making sure that the hitch doesn't stick out into the sidewalk:
The trailer is locked up, so we really had as much time as we wanted to unload things, but G. is never happy to rest ;) so he opened it up "just to see what all was in it". Then he started unloading "just the things that I can get myself". Well, in less than an hour, we had it all unloaded. Nothing is put together or really even where it should be, but the trailer is empty and now we can sit in air-conditioned comfort and assemble stuff.

What did you apply to the wood floor? And how bad was it before? Our floors are in rough shape, but I preferred that over the carpet that was on top of it when we moved in.
