In the last two days, we've had a bunch of contractors in to do work.
Yesterday the Radon Remediation guy put in a Radon Reduction System. Here's the pump and vent on the outside of the house:
and the tube going from the foundation to the outside:
Here's the crock that holds gray water, with a clear cover:
And the traditional, drain-tile crock with the regular cover:And the basement foundation guys came and put in steel beams to support the basement wall that had some movement. I forgot to take a picture of the whole wall with beams, but you can see two of the support beams behind the sump pump crock in the picture above.
Today the guy who did our neighbor's bathroom started his work on the bathroom and kitchen. We met him at Home Depot at 8:00 am to buy materials. By the end of the day, he (and his two workers) had accomplished a LOT! They removed the old tub and put in the new one:
And they put green board all around the walls and over where the tile will be:And green board on the ceiling:
Then they took out the kitchen pantry and patched that area, as well as the ceiling holes:
And opened up the wall between the kitchen and living room. Here's looking from kitchen into living room (Hi, Mom!):
And looking from living room into kitchen:Tomorrow we have to go buy a lot of stuff to have put in, including the tile, toilet, sink, vanity, faucets, etc. This is getting to be fun!
